DB Lab Supplies is pleased to announce the running of a two day orthodontic course for dental technicians, on the 18th & 19th May 2012 at the Eastman Dental Institute in London. The course will combine both theory & handson lab workshops, under the instruction of Ed Payne. The course will build on the technician’s basic orthodontic laboratory skills, & further their knowledge in more advanced areas of orthodontic laboratory work.
Aim
To advance the knowledge of the dental technician in orthodontic laboratory techniques.
Objective
To understand the theory and have the practical
knowledge to construct rapid expansion functional appliances, including an introduction to indirect bonding techniques.
Course Instruction by Ed Payne
Ed qualified as a Dental Technician in 1974 at the Eastman Dental Hospital where he then took up the position of Orthodontic Technician. After passing his advance City & Guilds in Orthodontics, he went on to become Senior, then Chief Technician before being made Senior Chief within the Orthodontic Laboratory.
In 1994 he then became Chief Technical Instructor in Orthodontics for Eastman Dental Institute, the position he holds at present.
Ed has taught HNC and HND in Orthodontics at Lambeth College and was treasurer of the Orthodontic Technicians Association. He has lectured both at home and abroad, most recently in Jordan after being invited by the Jordanian Orthodontic Society.
