Meet the DB Mini Families

Meet the DB Mini Families

Many of you will know we are a family business, yet many aren’t aware of the many mini-families who make up a large portion of the team. In despatch, quality and sales, there are mothers, daughters, sons and spouses aplenty. And, because we all get on, the family connections make for a positive atmosphere within the team.

Let us introduce you to the mini-families…

The Sayces: Bev, Jamie and Emma; Despatch.

Over the years, we have employed many generations from one family. The children we employed have performed well during their time with us due to their own strength of character and their desire to represent their own family positively. Many now have gone on to university or to pursue other career interests.

The Dysons: Anna; Quality Manager, and Beth; Despatch.

The corona-virus has thrown us all into times of uncertainty. That said, all decision making over the past weeks has taken into consideration not only the business, but also the best outcome for each employee.

 The Wains: Cath; Purchasing.

And Joe; Despatch.

At DB, we strive to offer a caring and supportive environment for everyone. As a family business, we pride ourselves on being fair, and respecting each individual employees needs, strengths and development areas. We always try to balance profitability with compassion for others.

The Whiteoaks: Karen and Rosie; Packing.

It has hit home, now more than ever, how important it is to safeguard our families and loved ones. When the UK recovers from the corona virus, we need to bounce back as one unified team. We want to ensure that when business resumes, every single team member is motivated and ready to serve our fantastic customers and partners.

The Coppack/Spotten siblings:
Simon Coppack; Operations Manager, and Emma Spotten; Area Sales.

We usually have our family barbeque at the end of August. On this day, we invite all families and friends to attend. The kids get to enjoy an afternoon of unlimited bouncy castle fun and other games, while the adults get to wind down whilst enjoying a glass of something chilled and refreshing. Fingers crossed it still goes ahead this year.

The Brooks: Heather and Scott; Despatch.

As our recent emails stated, a number of our team members are continuing to work off-site and your usual contacts should be available by email. We have redirected our email address - sales@dbortho.com - to be available off site, so please continue to use this for correspondence as normal.

 The Feathers: Julie, Warehouse Manager.

And Louise; Area Sales.

Our customer service phone line 01535 656999 has now been redirected for you to call us if you have any questions, or would simply like to have a chat with us. We’d like to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support, these are challenging times and your messages of support have been much appreciated.

As soon as we are advised by the government that business can return to normal, we look forward to getting in touch with you all.

In the meantime, stay safe and well!
